I founded KP7 from scratch to create an asset management firm that does things the right way and for the right reasons.
Doing things right in the asset management business means delivering results to our clients. Our clients want results delivered in a transparent, forthright, and understandable way. That is our simple goal.
Our organization, our investment strategy, and our day-to-day activities are focused and dedicated to achieving that one simple goal. We deliver results.
Our ability to deliver results depends on getting two things right. First, we conduct independent and differentiated investment research. We cannot and will not rely on third parties to do our work for us. We do our own work and we make our own investment decisions based on that work. This creates a portfolio of investments that is unique and different. This is fundamental to our firm.
Second, we maximize our opportunity set. We believe our opportunity set is orders of magnitude larger than most other asset managers. A larger opportunity set means more opportunities. This is an important competitive advantage for KP7. Where others narrow their opportunity sets by growing assets under management and narrowing their investment mandates, we commit to our investors to keep our asset base small and our investment mandate broad. This will preserve the size of our opportunity set and maintain this important advantage.
Our job, then, is to use our dedicated and independent research to find the best opportunities within our enormous opportunity set. It is that simple.
Our service isn’t for everyone. Our portfolio is more concentrated than most, which leads to greater monthly volatility. We search for investment ideas in unconventional places, which leads to a differentiated and highly unique portfolio. While the S&P 500 is our benchmark, our portfolio has very little overlap with it. Those attributes aren’t for everyone, but for those that see the investment world as we do, we think we can make a meaningful and consequential difference.
We believe a concentrated, differentiated, and unconventional portfolio is the best way to deliver results. This philosophy runs deep at KP7. It is the one and only way we know to invest for results.
